SYNTHESIS, CHARACTERIZATION AND SPECTRAL STUDIES OF SCHIFF BASES DERIVED FROM ACETOPHENONE

Abstract

New series of Schiff bases derived from 1, 3 – Di – phenyl -1Hpyrazole- 4-carbaldehyde and Sulpha Drugs have been synthesized in high yields via condensation in Methanol in the presence of catalytic amounts of Glacial acetic acid. These Schiff bases, useful as intermediates in organic synthesis.These Schiff base derivatives were characterized by, IR,1H-NMR, Mass spectral analysis, U.V Spectra and elemental analysis.
