Mantras in Traditional Medicine and Modern Wellness: Integrating Spiritual Traditions with Scientific Evidence

. Abstract Mantra chanting, a practice rooted in ancient Indian spirituality, has gained significant attention for its therapeutic benefits on mental and physical health. The article explores the scientific and traditional foundations of mantra chanting and its health benefits, supported by research and ancient practices. Mantra chanting, particularly in the context of brain wave modulation, has been shown to reduce stress, enhance cognitive function, and improve emotional regulation by increasing alpha and gamma wave activity. Studies also suggest that regular chanting improves physical health by lowering blood pressure, enhancing immune function, and improving sleep quality. Rooted in Indian traditional medicine, particularly Ayurveda, mantras are believed to balance the body’s energy systems and foster mental clarity. This article highlights the role of mantras in holistic health, emphasizing their modern relevance in mindfulness, wellness programs, and therapeutic settings. Through a blend of scientific evidence and traditional wisdom, mantras emerge as a non-medical approach to promoting well-being and mental health.
