IMPACT OF MENTAL STATES (SATVA, RAJAS, TAMAS) ON PHYSICAL HEALTH: AN AYURVEDIC PERSPECTIVE
*Dr. Supriya Gautam and Dr. Preeti Tiwari
. Abstract This article explores the impact of mental states (Satva, Rajas, and Tamas) on physical health from an Ayurvedic perspective. Ayurveda, a holistic healing system, emphasizes the interconnectedness of mind and body. The three Gunas Satva (purity), Rajas (activity), and Tamas (inertia) represent distinct mental qualities that directly influence emotions, behavior, and physical well-being. A balanced Satvic state promotes harmony and health, while an excess of Rajas leads to stress and Tamas causes lethargy. Understanding these Gunas helps in achieving mental balance and preventing physical disease, emphasizing the mind-body connection in Ayurveda. Keywords: Ayurveda, Gunas (Satva, Rajas, Tamas), Mind-body connection, Mental states, Physical health. [Full Text Article] [Download Certificate] |
