MANAGEMENT OF VATAKANTAKA (PLANTAR FASCIITIS) BY AGNIKARMA: A CASE STUDY

. Abstract Vatakantaka, known as plantar fasciitis, is a common condition characterized by pain in the heel and bottom of the foot. Repetitive injuries and uneven walking surfaces might induce Vata prakopa, which can result in Vatakantaka. Vata prakopa is characterised by a prickly sensation in the heel area that feels like a thorn. This condition involves inflammation of the plantar fascia, leading to significant discomfort, particularly with the first steps after a period of rest. Ayurveda, with its holistic and natural treatment modalities, offers promising solutions such as Agnikarma. It is clear from this case study that Agnikarma is a treatment method that not only treats symptoms but also reverses the course of the disease.
