LEPTOSPIROSIS WITH ACUTE ABDOMEN, DVT AND UNUSUAL PRESENTATION

. Abstract Leptospirosis is a zoonotic disease caused by spirochete leptospira. It is transmitted to man by direct and indirect contact with water contaminated with urine and faces of carrier animal. Leptospira are slender and spiral bacteria, about 6-20μ × 20μ in size.[1] They have closely set spirals and hooked ends, are actively motile, show spinning and bending or sharply flexing movement. Different species of leptospira are Leptospira interrogans and Leptospira biflexa. Leptospirosis is mainly caused by leptospira interrogans.[2] Keywords: .
