NANOTECHNOLOGY IN COSMETICS: A REVOLUTIONARY APPROACH TO BEAUTY AND WELLNESS
Dipali V. Kale*, Prof. Babasaheb L. Chopade and Dr. Megha T. Salve
. Abstract Nanotechnology, a 21st-century innovation, has transformed the cosmetic industry by harnessing the power of tiny particles to create innovative products. Derived from the Greek word “nano,” meaning dwarf, nanotechnology involves the manipulation of particles between 1-100 nm in size. With a rich history dating back to 4000 BC, when ancient Egyptians, Greeks, and Romans employed nanotechnology to create hair dyes, this field has evolved to encompass engineering, physics, chemistry, biology, and science. In the past 40 years, nanotechnology has been increasingly applied in cosmetics, health products, and skin preparations, revolutionizing the industry. By reducing particle size, nanotechnology improves solubility, bioavailability, and release, while decreasing toxicity. This abstract introduces the concept of nanotechnology in cosmetics, highlighting its potential to transform the beauty and wellness landscape. Keywords: .
