. Abstract Necrophilia, a paraphilic disorder characterized by a persistent sexual attraction to corpses, remains a taboo and understudied phenomenon in psychological and forensic literature. This abnormal behavior raises significant ethical, legal, and public health concerns, often necessitating intervention and legal regulation. Understanding the psychological underpinnings, prevalence rates, and societal implications of necrophilia is crucial for effective prevention and treatment strategies. This study provides an overview of current knowledge on necrophilia, highlighting its complex nature and the challenges it poses for both mental health professionals and legal authorities.
