AN OVERVIEW ON ORO FLASH RELEASE FILMS
Bantu Akanksha*, Srilakshmi N. and C. Aparna
Abstract In recent years, significant investigation has been performed in the pharmaceutical sector to create better drug delivery systems.[1] The oral route is the most tend to accepted method of drug administration due to its high patient compliance, ease of use, and cost-effectiveness, as it does not require sterile conditions and is less expensive to manufacture. Efforts have been made to develop dosage forms that address the issues encountered by patients, notably pediatrics’ and the elderly, who have trouble swallowing regular pills or capsules. One of these innovations is Oro-flash release films, which not only enhance patient compliance but also provide rapid drug delivery. These films are developed using hydrophilic polymers, which dissolve quickly when in contact with saliva, allowing for rapid and efficient medication absorption. This review focusses on the formulation and preparation of oro-flash release films, the polymers usually utilized in their production, key aspects of the manufacturing process, commercial technologies used, and currently available marketed oral film formulations. Keywords: Oral administration, Oro flash release films, Quick-dissolving, Rapid release. [Full Text Article] [Download Certificate] |
