Abstract Artificial intelligence is a vastly upcoming technology that has found its way into dentistry and diagnosing various ailments. There is a lot of confusion in understanding the terminology and workflow around AI and machine learning and its associated applications in the field of orthodontics. AI has been applied for diagnosis and treatment planning, radiographic analysis, skeletal age determination, TMJrelated disorders, and remote patient monitoring. All these applications come with their disadvantages as well. This comprehensive article aims to illuminate the terms related to AI and how it has helped diagnose various subjects in orthodontics.
