MODERN APPROACHES TO SIGNAL DETECTION AND MANAGEMENT IN PHARMACOVIGILANCE: A COMPREHENSIVE REVIEW OF METHODS, CHALLENGES, AND FUTURE PERSPECTIVES

Abstract Over the last decade, pharmacovigilance faces significant changes due to advances in technology and growing requirements for drug safety. The following review looks at the present-day practices concerning signal detection and handling in pharmacovigilance with reference to how there has been a shift from conventional approaches to technology-based systems. We discuss the role of artificial intelligence, real word evidence and sophisticated statistical methods to detect signals and the issues that need to be met and the advancements expected in signal detection. This review is an encapsulation of the current state of affairs, as well as information about trends that could define the near future of drug safety monitoring.
