ALOE VERA: NATURE'S MIRACLE FOR BEAUTY AND SKINCARE

. Abstract Aloe vera, a member of the Liliaceae family, derives its name from the Arabic word "Alloeh," meaning a shining bitter substance, and the Latin word "vera," meaning true. Scientifically identified as Aloe barbadensis, its leaves are rich in diverse chemical constituents such as aloin, anthraquinones, amino acids, isobarbaloin, emodin, lignin, and vitamins. These compounds contribute to its remarkable properties, including anti-aging, anti-acne, moisturizing, antioxidant, and other cosmetic benefits. Due to its versatile applications, Aloe vera has become a cornerstone ingredient in the cosmetic and cosmeceutical industries. This article explores the plant's characteristics, chemical composition, and cosmetic applications, while also shedding light on the current trends and potential future advancements in the utilization of Aloe vera.
