OVERVIEW OF FENUGREEK: MOLECULAR DOCKING AND ADMET ANALYSIS

Abstract

Fenugreek which is also known as Trigonella foenum graecum plant of the Fabaceae family which consists of many health benefits including those present in most of the female population in need of ayurvedic medicines. Fenugreek has been used commonly as a medicine and traditional food. It consists of many Phyto-constituents such as Alkaloids, Flavonoids, Saponins, Lipids, etc. The mentioned plant is effectively used in certain health conditions such as Diabetes, PCOS, Cancer, Lactation and Gastric problems. It is cultivated widely in certain regions of India and foreign including. Various medicinal applications are derived from parts of the fenugreek plant. Its collection and formulation is done with precaution for obtaining greater effective action. Reaction details between certain and specific cells, proteins, genes and active constituents in the body remains limited. Thus, an analysis of the physiochemical properties of fenugreek with its potential targets and mechanisms is needed. Now, Network pharmacology has been emerged as an exciting new subfield of drug development because it combines analysis of biomedical data with system medicines. By this data obtained we can construct network between drugs and their target proteins. In present study, we used molecular docking to identify the potential target proteins of active constituents present in the fenugreek plant, with a goal of interpreting the fundamental mechanisms of its activities by ADMET analysis as well.
