Abstract

Katigraha is a Vataja nanatmaja vyadhi described by Sharangadhara.[1] We find brief description of Kati Graha as a disease with its etiological factors, symptoms, and treatment in Gadanigraha Vatavyadhi adhikara.[2] Acharya Shodala says it as a condition characterized by pain and restricted movements of the Kati. Katighara is a disease also mentioned in Bhavaprakasha, which is having the involvement of Kapha Dosha along with Vata. which affects the normal functions of lower limb hampering the daily activities of the person. It has been correlated in the present study with low back pain, katigraha is stambha, shula predominant vyadhi.
