Abstract According to WHO, diabetes mellitus will be the single largest noncommunicable disease worldwide by the year 2025 with the largest diabetic population in India. Current pharmaco-therapeutics/medicines are not able to reverse hyperglycaemia completely, have limited tolerability, and induce side effects. Therefore, a need for alternative therapy especially the natural plant sources having minimal side effects has arisen. Even the WHO expert committee on diabetes has recommended the need of investigation of their effectiveness in the management of the disease. In majority of traditional systems, diabetes is better managed by the herbs combination (Polyherbal) instead of single herb because of synergism and less side effects. Herbal remedies served a vital role in developing therapeutic agents due to their proven effectiveness in treating various ailments. The study was mainly focused on the preparation of bael powder loaded anti-diabetic suspension and underscores the importance of using suitable excipients to enhance the stability of herbal formulations offering a model for future herbal product development.
