Dr. Prerna Saini* and Prof. Dr. Deepti Parashar
Abstract Ayurveda's diagnostic approach is rooted in understanding the subtle interplay of Doshas and Agni within the body. Jihva Pariksha (tongue examination), one of the eight diagnostic methodologies of Ashtasthana Pariksha, provides insights into an individual's systemic health. This study investigates the utility of Jihva Pariksha in diagnosing Annavaha Srotodushti Vikara (gastrointestinal disorders), including Ajeerna, Arochaka, Amlapitta, and Grahani. An observational study on 200 subjects highlights significant correlations between tongue characteristics and specific gastrointestinal conditions, reaffirming its relevance in clinical practice.
