VARICOSE VEINS: A COMPREHENSIVE REVIEW ON PATHOPHYSIOLOGY, PREVENTION AND TREATMENT
Ashwini More and Dr. Dinesh Kumar Jain*
Abstract Dilated and convoluted veins are the hallmark of varicose veins, a common venous disease. They result in valve incompetence, which ultimately leads to venous hypertension and chronic venous insufficiency. Pregnancy, lengthy periods of standing, gender, age, and genetics are major risk factors. In addition to leg pain and swelling, other symptoms include cosmetic issues and, in extreme situations, venous ulcers. Compression therapy, non-surgical and surgical therapies, and medical management are among the traditional treatments that are examined in this review along with the etiology, pathophysiology, and clinical symptoms. The advantages of natural medications over complex therapies are also emphasized. Regarding reducing symptoms and enhancing venous health, natural remedies could be more advantageous and economical than more involved ones like surgeries and laser treatments. Keywords: Pathophysiology, symptoms, risk factors, Diagnosis, Treatment, and use of Herbal Remedies, Varicose Veins. [Full Text Article] [Download Certificate] |
