A REVIEW ON NATURAL PLANTS FOR CANCER THERAPY

Abstract
Cancer is a dreadful disease and combating this disease is of great
importance to public health. Cancer affecting millions of people per
year. Cancer has been estimated as the second leading cause of death
in humans. Cancer kills about 3500 million people annually all over
the world. Several chemopreventive agents are used to treat cancer, but
they cause toxicity. Plants have been used as remedies and
experimental literature has described the usage of plant based
chemicals. More than 50% of modern drugs in clinical use are of
natural products. So an intense search on various biological sources is
required to develop a novel anti-cancer drug to fight this disease. An
impressive number of modern drugs have been developed from the
plants. A number of promising agents of medicinal plants are used in
clinical and preclinical development. In this Present review, we have
focused on some of the medicinal plants having strong anticancer properties that would play a
vital role in discovering potential anticancer drug for treating cancer.
