PROCESS OF TOOL DEVELOPMENT AND VALIDATION OF JIHWA PAREEKSHA
Archana Chowkimath*, Arun Kumar M. and Nagaraj S.
. Abstract In Ayurveda, the process of Roga Vinishchaya (identifying the nature of a disease) is considered of great importance. The diagnosis of diseases employs various methods, with Jihwa Pareeksha (tongue examination) being one that holds considerable significance. In addition to other assessments like Astasthana Pareekshana and Lakshana (symptom analysis), observing the tongue is a simple but essential method aiding in the Saapeksha nidana (diagnosis of diseases). The Jihwa mirrors the condition of internal organs. Traditional Jihwa Pareeksha (tongue examination) methods describe various characteristics that can reveal the health of specific internal organs just by examining the tongue's surface. A practitioner who fails to diagnose based on the signs observed in the Nadi (pulse), Mootra (urine), or Jihwa (tongue) is prone to making mistakes that could harm the patient, suggesting lack of skill. Research on the concept of Jihwa Pareeksha is limited, and the studies conducted so far have lacked a validated tool for assessing the Jihwa. Therefore, attempt is made to develop a Jihwa Pareeksha tool to evaluate Dosha Pradhanyata. Keywords: . [Full Text Article] [Download Certificate] |
