HERBAL NANOPARTICLES AS PROMISING ANTIBIOTICS FOR COMBATING MULTI DRUG RESISTANCE BACTERIAL INFECTION
MD Tanweer Ahmed*, Mohit Srivastava and MD Naushad Alam
. Abstract Antibiotic resistance presents a formidable global health challenge, necessitating innovative approaches to combat multi-drug-resistant bacterial infections. This comprehensive exploration delves into the multifaceted domain of herbal nanoparticles as potential antibiotics, addressing their mechanisms of action, efficacy, safety, clinical applications, international initiatives, and future prospects. Herbal nanoparticles employ diverse mechanisms to counteract drug-resistant bacteria, making them versatile and potent therapeutic agents. In vitro and in vivo studies consistently demonstrate their efficacy, including dose-dependent relationships and synergistic interactions with conventional antibiotics. Safety assessments reveal promising profiles, though long-term effects require further scrutiny. Clinical trials and therapeutic applications underscore herbal nanoparticles' real-world potential, from wound healing to targeted drug delivery. International initiatives, led by organizations such as the WHO and GARDP, offer critical avenues to combat antibiotic resistance on a global scale. Collaborations between traditional medicine practitioners and modern researchers bridge ancient wisdom with contemporary science. Emerging trends in herbal nanoparticle research, including precision medicine, multifunctional nanoparticles, and sustainable production, hold promise. However, challenges related to standardization, safety assessment, and regulatory approval must be addressed for herbal nanoparticles to realize their full potential. The implications of herbal nanoparticles as antibiotics are profound, offering enhanced efficacy, sustainability, preservation of traditional wisdom, global collaboration, and the promise of a healthier future. Overcoming challenges related to standardization, safety assessment, and regulatory approval is critical in harnessing herbal nanoparticles' transformative potential to combat antibiotic resistance.
