ROLE OF PANCHAKARMA IN BEEJA SHUDDHI: AN AYURVEDIC APPROACH TO HEALTHY PROGENY
Dr. Gouri Balasaheb Suryawanshi* and Dr. Pramod Mandalkar
. Abstract Preconception care is crucial for ensuring a healthy progeny, and Ayurveda emphasizes the concept of Beeja Sanskar, which involves purification and enhancement of reproductive elements (Shukra and Artava) before conception. Panchakarma, the detoxification and rejuvenation therapy of Ayurveda, plays a pivotal role in this process by eliminating toxins (Aama), balancing Doshas, and improving the quality of reproductive tissues. Therapies such as Vamana, Virechana, Basti, Nasya, and Raktamokshana help in systemic detoxification, while Uttar Basti and Vajikarana therapy specifically enhance fertility and reproductive health. Panchakarma has been shown to regulate hormonal balance, improve endometrial receptivity, and enhance gamete quality, thereby reducing infertility. By restoring Dosha equilibrium and strengthening Agni, it aids in optimizing conception outcomes and ensures a superior genetic lineage. Integrating Ayurvedic principles of Beeja Sanskar with modern reproductive science can offera natural and holistic approach to fertility management.
