. Abstract This review of transdermal patches focuses on the discovery of the transdermal drug delivery system and transdermal patches, components of transdermal patches, types of transdermal patches, physiology of the skin, the routes in the skin through which transdermal patches delivers its drug into the intact of skin. The review also focuses on how transdermal patches is better than the oral dosage forms, how it will be overcome to the side effects of oral dosage forms and at last, how transdermal patch give its contribution to the patient compliance.
