AN ASSESSMENT OF QUALITY OF LIFE AMONG HAEMODIALYSIS PATIENT

Abstract End Stage Renal Disease (ESRD) is growing as a serious and problematic issue worldwide. Hemodialysis is commonly used as renal replacement therapy which affects the quality of life of patients. Patients using hemodialysis have a moderate quality of life (QOL) and survival rate. This is a cross sectional study carried out to assess the QOL of hemodialysis patients. This study included 178 hemodialysis patients who had undergone at least three months of maintenance hemodialysis. Hemodialysis patients' QOL was shown to be considerably reduced (P< 0.05). Data were collected using WHOQOLBREF questionnaire through face to face interview schedule. The main goal of this study was to find out the QOL of hemodialysis patients. Different tests were used, such as the ANOVA test to determine the association between socio-demographic variables with multiple items and the independent t-test for variables with two items.
