STUDIES ON SYNTHESIS OF AROMATIC SCHIFF BASES: PART-VIII. REVIEW ON REVIEW ON SCHIFF BASES(AZOMETHINES) UP TO YEAR 2010
C. J. Patil* and Manisha C. Patil
. Abstract Here we have presented a review of reviews on Schiff bases derived from different types of amine, aldehyde and their coordination compounds have been published, up to year 2010. In the present review we depict a systematic and brief overview of the most important reviews and achievements accomplished in this field. The condensation approach opens up many combinations for conducting rapid organic synthesis and functional group transformations more favorable. Mostly the reviews pertaining to synthesis, different routes and biological activities and the same for their metal complexes were also discussed. Also, there is no interrelationship or co-ordination of any review to one another and the authors were writing any kind of review starting from anywhere without boundaries. In this review, we have reviewed the reviews reported only upto the year 2010 year. The review is written on Schiff bases(and their complexes) derived from most commonly used aromatic and or hetero-aromatic aldehydes including hydroxyaryl aldehydes in the Google Database has been investigated. It contains 74 review references. Keywords: Review, Schiff base, imine, azomethine, Ketimine, Pharmacological and Biological activities. [Full Text Article] [Download Certificate] |
