EFFECT OF DIET AND LIFESTYLE ON STRI ROGA AN AYURVEDIC REVIEW
Dr. Singh Priyanka Priyadarshini*
. Abstract Stri Roga, which pertains to women’s health disorders, is a crucial area within Ayurveda that underscores the significance of diet (Ahara) and lifestyle (Vihara) in promoting female reproductive health. This review examines the Ayurvedic viewpoint on Stri Roga, emphasizing how dietary and lifestyle choices are essential for sustaining reproductive wellness and averting illnesses. Given the rising incidence of gynecological conditions like PCOS, endometriosis, and hormonal imbalances, Ayurveda offers a holistic method for managing and preventing these issues. The principles of Ayurveda related to Stri Roga focus on achieving equilibrium among the Doshas (Vata, Pitta, and Kapha), boosting Agni (digestive fire), and ensuring the proper functioning of Dhatus (body tissues). It is suggested that unfavorable dietary practices, high intake of processed foods, and a lack of physical activity lead to Dosha imbalances, resulting in gynecological problems. Contributing factors such as stress, irregular sleeping patterns, and insufficient exercise can intensify these disorders, highlighting the need for comprehensive interventions. This review elaborates on the categorization of Stri Roga in Ayurveda, how Ahara influences hormonal stability, and the relationship between lifestyle decisions and reproductive health. It also outlines various Ayurvedic dietary plans, superfoods, and herbal remedies, including Shatavari, Ashoka, and Lodhra, which are frequently employed to address menstrual irregularities, infertility, and other gynecological issues. Furthermore, the paper stresses the importance of merging Ayurvedic concepts with contemporary medical research to create a holistic approach to women’s health. The discourse highlights the relevance of a structured lifestyle (Dinacharya), seasonal dietary practices (Ritucharya), and detoxification methods (Panchakarma) in the prevention and management of Stri Roga. The conclusions support Ayurveda’s effectiveness in targeting the root causes of gynecological disorders rather than simply allev iating symptoms. Future studies should prioritize clinical trials and scientific validation of Ayurvedic methods to connect traditional knowledge with modern healthcare practices. By embracing Ayurvedic dietary guidelines and making lifestyle adjustments, women can attain sustained reproductive health and overall wellness. Keywords: .
