HOLISTIC AYURVEDIC APPROACH TO KITIBHA KUSTHA: INTEGRATING SODHANA, SHAMANA AND RASAYANA THERAPIES

Abstract Kitibha kushtha, a kshudra kustha, is characterized by the predominance of Vata and Kapha dosha, each exhibiting specific symptoms. Due to the presence of Bahudosha avastha, repeated shodhana is suggested for Kushtha to eliminate the aggravated doshas. Guttate psoriasis is a type of psoriasis that presents as small (0.5 to 1.5 cm in diameter) lesions over the upper trunk and proximal extremities found frequently in young adults. A 42 year, male visited the outpatient department with complaints of itchy, scaly lesion over back region since 6 months. The subject was treated with Virechana, Shamana and Rasayana Chikitsa and PASI scale was used for assessment which showed significant improvement in signs and symptoms before and after treatment.
