Abstract

Herbal medicine remains the primary source of healthcare for approximately 75–80% of the global population, particularly in developing nations, due to its cultural acceptability, compatibility with the human body, and fewer side effects. In recent years, however, there has been a significant rise in the use of herbal remedies in developed countries. In Germany and France, many herbal products are prescribed as medications, with sales in the European Union reaching around $6 billion in 1991 and potentially exceeding $20 billion today.
