AN AYURVEDIC LITERATURE REVIEW ON ARDITA ROGA NIDANA

. Abstract In this advanced modernized era, life styles, food habits are changing at a very faster rate. People are unable to follow the Dinacharya, Rhitucharya as prescribed by Ayurveda. The Trayopastambha of life i.e. Ahara, Nidra and Brahmacharya are very much disturbed due to the acceptance of modern life styles. People are not getting sufficient nutritional diet, clean air to breathe. Life of every person is now stressful. All these factors are contributing to poor health status of the individuals. In another words, society is becoming more Vata dosha prominent. Ardita is a Nanatmaja type of Vatavyadhi. Ardita can be corre lated with Facial Palsy of Infranuclear type as both conditions have many things in common. Any difference of description in an ancient and modem texts should not be considered contradictory because the time-gap elapsed between the two descriptions and also the mode of presentations based on the entirely different backgrounds of etio-pathogenesis have their own weightage.
