ROLE OF KARNADHOOPAN DRAVYA IN THE MANAGEMENT OF KARNAGAT ROGA

. Abstract Karna Dhoopan is a therapeutic procedure described in Shalakya tantra, a branch of Ayurveda focuses on treatment of diseases affecting the supraclavicular parts, particularly the eyes, ears, nose, and throat. The term ‘Karnadhoopan’ refers to fumigation or administration of medicated smoke directed at the ear, aimed at treating a variety of ear related conditions such as ear infections like ASOM. CSOM, hearing loss, tinnitus, and ear congestion. The procedure involves the use of herbs with anti-inflammatory, anti-bacterial, and antifungal properties to alleviate pain, reduce inflammation, improve circulation, and clear blockages in the ear canal. Karnadhoopan is particularly effective in ear ailments, related to vata imbalance. This article explores the therapeutic process, indications, benefits, and precautions related to karnadhoopan emphasizing its role in ear care.
