A REVIEW ARTICLE ON RELATIONSHIP OF DEHA PRAKRITI WITH VISHADA (STRESS)
Dr. Ramnarayan Tripathy* and Prof. (Dr.) Srikanta Kumar Panda
. Abstract The ancient Indian medical philosophy known as Ayurveda takes an integrated approach to health by harmonizing the three doshas of Pitta, Kapha, and Vata. Stress resilience is largely determined by an individual's Prakriti, or bodily and psychological constitution, which is influenced by these doshas. In Ayurveda, stress—known as Vishada— is directly linked to mental health conditions, especially depression, and is linked to both physical and mental imbalances. The link between the various Prakriti types (Pittaja, Kapha, and Vataja) and their vulnerability to Vishada is examined in this article. The impact of doshic imbalances, especially the dominance of Kapha, Vata, and Pitta in the development of Vishada, is discussed, along with the physiological, psychological, and lifestyle aspects that lead to stress and depression. Examined are the Nidana (causes) of Vishada, including poor nutrition, inactivity, emotional disorders, and chronic illnesses, with an emphasis on how these elements interact with the doshas to impact a person's mental well-being. The article's conclusion is that, especially in today's fast-paced, pressure-filled culture, knowing one's Prakriti from a young age can help with improved stress management and the prevention of stress induced ailments. Keywords: stress, doshas, mental health, depression, doshic imbalance, Ayurveda, Prakriti, vishada. [Full Text Article] [Download Certificate] |
