AN EFFICIENT SYNTHESIS AND ATIMICROBIAL ACTIVITY OF SCHIFFS BASE CONTAINING AMINOTHIAZOLE BY TRICHLOROSALICYLICACID
P. Jangama Patrudu, M. Sai Ganesh and Dr. N. Krishna Rao*
. Abstract Schiff’s bases were exhibiting an important class of medicinally and synthetically significant moieties. An efficient method for the synthesis for a series of Schiff bases from 2-amino thiazole with substituted aromatic aldehyde by using camphoric sulphonic acid in organic solvent at room temperature. The intermediate molecule (2-amino thiazole) can be prepared from 4-Chloro -2-bromo acetophenone with thiourea in the presence of sodium acetate and phosphoric acid medium. All the titled synthesized derivatives were evaluated by the advanced spectroscopic data such as 1HNMR, 13CNMR and LCMS and also structure of the molecules determined by elemental analysis and the subsequently all newly compounds were evaluated by their antimicrobial activity. Keywords: 4-chloro-2-bromo-acetophenone, thiourea, 5-(4- Chlorophenyl) thiazole-2-amine, Aromatic aldehyde, Trichlorosalicylicacid, antimicrobial activity.
