GMP IN HERBAL PRODUCTS
Mohit Vishwakarma* and Awan Kumar Pandey
. Abstract Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) play a critical role in guaranteeing the safety, quality, and efficacy of herbal products, which are being consumed worldwide for their medicinal properties. In contrast to synthetic medications, herbal products tend to be intricate mixtures that come from nature and hence pose increased challenges in ensuring quality. GMP ensures consistent manufacture and quality control across the board from raw material selection to final packaging. GMP application in the herbal sector ensures reduced risk of contamination, correct labeling, and increased consumer confidence. Despite this, challenges are present and include inconsistent raw materials, absence of standard testing protocols, and limited regulatory harmonization in countries. Implementation of international GMP standards, for example, from the World Health Organization (WHO), will help standardize procedures and raise the global level of herbal medicine manufacturing.
