ROLE OF YASHTI GAMBHARI SIDDHA KSHEER IN VATABHIPANNA SHUSHKAGARBHA: A CRITICAL REVIEW
*Dr. Shraddha Naik and Dr. Dipti Kadam
. Abstract Vatabhipanna Shushkagarbha, closely resembling intrauterine growth restriction (IUGR), is a significant obstetric concern in Ayurveda, characterized by poor fetal growth due to Vata vitiation and inadequate Garbha Poshana. Ayurvedic classics emphasize the use of Brimhana, Snigdha, Vatahara, and Rasayana drugs to manage this condition. A milk-based formulation containing Yashtimadhu (Glycyrrhiza glabra), Gambhari fruit (Gmelina arborea Roxb.), Sita (sugar), and Ksheera (cow’s milk) is proposed based on principles from Charak Samhita and contemporary research. This article explores the pharmacological and classical rationale for this combination in improving fetal nourishment and maternal wellbeing. Keywords: Gambhari, Ksheerpaka, Shushkagarbha, Sita, Yashtimadhu. [Full Text Article] [Download Certificate] |
