ASSESEMENT OF SELF CARE PRACTICES AMONG TYPE 2 DIABETIC MELLITUS PATIENTS IN URBAN AREA

. Abstract Background and objective: This study explores the assessment of self-care practice among type 2 diabetic in urban areas of erode district, with the aim of increasing awareness, identify lifestyle, and assessing intervention effectiveness. Methodology: A comprehensive six month observational study involved 200 patients ages 20 – 50 was rigorously conducted. Data collection include a meticulously validated questionnaire, high risk identification, and the implementation of educational interventions. Results and Discussion: Our findings revealed a striking contrast. While the actual self-care of type 2 diabetic was lower than anticipated, the prevalence of self-care practice are very high. This undergo critical need of counselling for self-care. Tailored educational intervention exhibited great promise in improving self-care. Life style choices play an important role in susceptibility with family history experiencing the highest effect of type 2 diabetic. Conclusion: This investigation undergoes the urgency of self-care of type 2 diabetic, personalized education. It highlight the merit of self-care assessment and emphasize the role of health education with tertiary institutions .This research serve a catalyst for future initiative aimed to enhance the well-being of students in the context of type 2 diabetic.
