ROLE OF DINCHARYA IN LIFESTYLE, DISORDERS, AND PREVENTION
Shilpa Kumari* and Sudesh Kumar Bhambu
Abstract Ayurveda, an ancient holistic science of life, emphasizes prevention over cure, offering practical tools to maintain health and well-being. Among these, Dincharya—the daily regimen—stands out as a structured routine designed to align human activities with natural rhythms, promoting physical, mental, and emotional balance. In today’s fast-paced world, lifestyle disorders such as hypertension, diabetes, obesity, and stress-related conditions have surged, largely due to sedentary habits, poor diet, and disrupted biological clocks. This article explores the role of Dincharya in shaping a healthy lifestyle, preventing lifestyle disorders, and fostering resilience against disease. By integrating practices such as waking during Brahma Muhurat, oral hygiene, exercise (Vyayama), oil massage (Abhyanga), and mindful eating, Dincharya regulates the body’s Doshas (Vata, Pitta, Kapha), enhances digestion (Agni), and supports mental clarity. The discussion highlights how adherence to these time-tested rituals counters modern lifestyle challenges, offering a sustainable approach to health maintenance. The article concludes that Dincharya serves as a preventive framework, reducing the burden of noncommunicable diseases and promoting longevity in contemporary society. Keywords: Dincharya, Ayurveda, Abhyanga, Vyayama, Emotional balance. [Full Text Article] [Download Certificate] |
