EFFECTIVE MANAGEMENT OF PSORIASIS THROUGH AYURVEDA: A SINGLE CASE ANALYSIS

. Abstract Healthy skin is a mirror of general healthiness. In present era, skin diseases have become a major hazard for mental health as well as physical health. Psoriasis is a chronic inflammatory disease affecting mainly in skin and joints. In Ayurveda, under the umbrella of Kushta all skin diseases are described. This case report presents a school going female child aged 15 years from Haridwar came to Patanjali Ayurveda hospital with complaint of Dry scaly lesions all over the body. Two assessments were done before and after treatment on scoring of Dermatology Life Quality Index (DLQI) and PASI score. Score of the patient was 76% before treatment and 26% after treatment on Dermatology Life Quality Index (DLQI), and 43.2% before treatment, 17.1% after treatment and 12% after follow up in PASI (Psoriasis Area and Severity Index). This report shows that Ayurvedic modalities brought about an improvement in the condition of patient with ekakushta.
