Renuka Khamankar*, Ketan Jangale and Pallavi Chandanshiv
. Abstract Pregnancy is said to be a life-carrying miracle. It is a period of happiness with a couple of responsibilities and bundle of risks also. We need to look for various measures so as to avoid complications like garbhastrav (~Miscarriage) and garbhapat (~Abortion). Liquid diet regimen mentioned in Sushrut Samhita, Sharir sthana is a precautionary measure to avoid complications and also a conservative management for the patients having history of recurrent miscarriages or abortions. The favourable results of this add-on regime says that this will make the baby stronger and also reduces pain to pregnant women during the process of delivery. Along with the regular garbhini paricarya, we can give drava (Liquids) prepared from various dravyas according to the month. These dravyas has properties of Garbha sthapan and bala to the foetus and mother. It can be used with milk to make it easily palatable and to digest with the regular masanumasik paricharya. The dravyas also helps to reduce the symptoms faced by pregnant women trimester wise. This should be involved and encouraged in our OPD practices also because nowadays people are conscious about pregnancy and are moving to ayurveda for better results so we must use our basics to provide the society with safer options for a safer pregnancy to deliver a healthy progeny.
