. Abstract Anjananamika is one among the Vartmagata rogas mentioned by Acharya Sushruta and Acharya Vagbhata. It is a Raktaja Bhedanasadhya roga. It is a tamra varna pidaka (copper coloured suppurative swelling) in the vartma characterised by daha (burning sensation), toda (Pricking type of pain), mrudu (soft) in nature, manda ruja (dull pain) and sukshma (minute) in nature. It can be correlated to Stye (External hordeolum). Stye is an acute suppurative inflammation of lash follicle and its associated glands of Zeis or Moll. It is one of the commonly seen conditions in Shalakya OPD. The treatment principles for Anjananamika consists of Swedana (fomentation), Bhedana (incision), Nishpidana (drainage by compression) followed by Pratisarana (local application of medications) and Anjana (Collyrium). For the present case study, a 40-year-old female patient with complaints of pain, swelling and burning sensation in the left eye for 3 months was taken for treatment. She was treated with Bidalaka with Triphala and Yashtimadhu for 7 days followed by Nasya with Anu taila for 7 days; along with Triphala kashaya eyewash and internal medications.
