MANAGEMENT OF SUCHIMUKHI AND UDAVARTINI YONIVYAPAD WITH AYURVEDIC INTERVENTIONS: A CASE STUDY
*Dr. Shilpy Shukla and Dr. Anupama V.
. Abstract Suchimukhi and Udavartini Yonivyapad are gynaecological disorders described in classical Ayurvedic texts, manifesting with symptoms like yoni vedana (vaginal pain), yoni sankocha (constriction), and difficulty in coitus. Suchimukhi is a type of yoni vyapad characterized by suchibheda toda and narrowing of the vaginal passage, whereas Udavartini arises due to vitiated Vata leading to upward movement of Apana Vayu, resulting in dysmenorrhea, constipation, and abdominal discomfort. A 28-year-old female patient presented with classical symptoms of both such disorders. Based on clinical and Ayurvedic parameters, she was diagnosed with a combination of Suchimukhi and Udavartini Yonivyapad. A Treatment protocol was designed with Vata-shamaka and Snigdha-swedopakrama-based therapies, which included Matra Basti, Yoni Abhyanga, Yoni Swedana and oral medication. The interventions were given in 3 cycles in 3 consecutive month. The therapy showed significant improvement in vaginal flexibility, reduction in pain, and normalization of apana vayu function. This case highlights the efficacy of local and systemic Vata-pacifying therapies in managing Suchimukhi and Udavartini Yonivyapad. Keywords: Suchimukhi Yonivyapad, Udavartini Yonivyapad, Apana Vata Dushti, Matra Basti, Yoni Abhyanga, Yoni Swedana, Dysmenorrhea. [Full Text Article] [Download Certificate] |
