EFFICACY OF ANUTAILA LOCAL APPLICATION IN DIABETIC FOOT ULCERS: A REVIEW ARTICLE WITH CASE STUDY

. Abstract Introduction: Diabetic foot ulcer (DFU) is a severe complication of diabetes mellitus, contributing significantly to morbidity, mortality, and healthcare costs. Its management necessitates a comprehensive approach involving surgical debridement, infection control, vascular assessment, and appropriate wound care. This study evaluates the efficacy of Anutaila in managing Diabetic foot ulcer DFU. Methods: A 65-year-old, male approached with complaints of multiple ulcers at ventral aspect of the right foot with mild pain, swelling and pus discharge from the wound for last 45 days. He was treated with Ayurvedic treatment consisting of Raktashodhak Kashaya internally, Vrana shodhana with Triphalakashay followed by dressing with Anutaila daily for 2 months externally. Anutaila having ingredients properties consisting shodhana and ropana qualities. Results: Within 2 months the ulcer showed significant improvement obliteration of interconnected wound with no infections, no recurrence and no complications. Discussions: Anutaila promotes wound healing by removing slough (dead tissue) as well as it significantly reduces pain, discharge, inflammation in wound and promotes tissue repair, by its Shodhana and Ropana krama. Conclusion: Anutaila can be used effectively in a management of wound even diabetic foot ulcer as another alternative therapy by its Shodhana and Ropana krama.
