AYURVEDIC MANAGEMENT OF OVARIAN HEMORRHAGIC CYST WITH PCOD: A CASE REPORT
Dr. Prashansa Bharil*, Dr. Sangeeta Gupta, Dr. Sidheswar Sathua and Dr. Sandhya Chouhan
. Abstract Hormones significantly influence women's health, from menarche to menopause. Disruptions in ovarian hormone levels, in conjunction with the hypothalamic-pituitary-ovarian (HPO) axis, can affect physical, psychological, and reproductive well-being. Poor dietary habits and lifestyle changes can alter the secretion of female hormones, potentially leading to the development of ovarian cysts. Hemorrhagic ovarian cysts are frequently encountered in routine gynecological practice. Methodology: This case study examines an 18-year-old unmarried female presenting with lower abdominal pain, irregular menstruation, weakness, white discharge, and constipation. An ultrasound confirmed a left ovarian hemorrhagic cyst (43mm × 41mm × 30mm), PCOD, and a history of PID. She underwent three months of Ayurvedic treatment, including Kanchnar Guggulu, Dashmularishta, Rajahpravartani Vati, and other formulations. Hormonal imbalances and lifestyle factors contribute to ovarian cysts, commonly seen in gynecology. Post-treatment, a follow-up ultrasound confirmed cyst resolution, complete PID recovery, and significant symptom improvement. Keywords: Hemorrhagic Cyst, PCOD, Raktaja Granthi Roga.
