Abstract Pregnancy is a vital and transformative period in a woman’s life, requiring comprehensive medical attention, lifestyle management, and emotional support to ensure the well-being of both mother and fetus. This project aims to provide a detailed overview of pregnancy with a special focus on the various complications that may arise before and during gestation. Pre-pregnancy care, including nutritional counseling, vaccination, and screening for chronic conditions, is essential in reducing risks during pregnancy. The project explores several complications that can adversely impact pregnancy outcomes, such as infections (e.g., TORCH infections), hypertensive disorders, gestational diabetes, and preeclampsia. It also analyzes the causes and consequences of miscarriage, pregnancy loss, and preterm labor— conditions that contribute significantly to maternal and neonatal morbidity and mortality. Through a review of current medical guidelines and clinical practices, the project emphasizes the importance of early diagnosis, timely intervention, and preventive care. Understanding these risk factors and complications is key to ensuring healthier pregnancies, reducing preventable complications, and promoting positive maternal-fetal health outcomes. The project aims to raise awareness and contribute to improved prenatal care strategies through education and research-based recommendations.
