Abstract

INTERPRETATION OF RESULTS OF URINE ROUTINE AND MICROSCOPIC EXAMINATION WITH REFERENCE TO AYURVEDIC BASIC CONCEPTS.

Abstract

Introduction- Ayurveda the traditional Indian medicinal system. Complete examination of patient is necessary before starting any treatment. For examination of patient, there are various methods are described in ancient time. In Yogratnakar there is description of trividha, chaturvidha, ashtavidha pariksha. One of them is Mutra pariksha. According to Ayurveda urine examination can reveal the imbalance of dosha and present of toxins and overall health status of an individuals. Aims and Objectives- 1. To explain effects of doshas and their guna karma with special reference to urine microscopic examination. 2. To correlate and discuss urine microscopic examination. Material and Methods- 1. References of dosha and their guna karma have been collected from classical ayurvedic literature. 2. All the data is compiled, analyzed, and discussed thorough and in depth understanding about mutranirmiti, physiology of urine formation, urine microscopic examination from books and other authentic source. Discussion - Ayurveda emphasizes the importance of urine as it is believed to be reflection of metabolic activities. The effect of dosha and their guna on bladder and urinary tract can be compared with results of urinalysis. Various cells present in urine during urinalysis may be compared with lakshnas of vitiated dosha by its guna. Conclusion- In ayurveda, urine examination is used in a systematic and scientific way for knowing the diagnosis and prognosis of the disease. By seeing urine microscopic results, there is a possibility to understand the tartamata of dosha, their guna, karma and their symptoms on the body for diagnosis of disease with special reference to urine microscopic examination.
