A STUDY ON VATA-KAPHAJA JWARA WITH SPECIAL REFERENCE TO COMMON INFECTIOUS DISEASE

Abstract Jwara is the most important and critical disease among all the diseases mentioned in Ayurveda. Among all the types of Jwara, Vata-Kaphaja Jwara is one of the commonest type seen that is diagnosed on the basis of lakshanas narrated by different authors. Many patients of fever like Vata-Kaphaja Jwara opted for Ayurvedic treatment as an alternative. The commonest cause of Jwara include some common infectious diseases like malaria, dengue, typhoid, Japanese Encephalitis, URTI, LRTI, UTI etc. The findings of National Sample Survey Organization (NSSO) revealed that 37% to 75% of fever patients are due to infective etiology. So, a study on Vata-Kaphaja Jwara in reference to some common infectious diseases is the need of the hour. For this, a specific case of Vata-Kaphaja Jwara was studied and specific diagnostic tests were performed for its effective diagnosis. The results were evaluated and discussion and conclusion was made to find out the relation of Vata-Kaphaja Jwara with common infectious diseases.
