CRITICAL ANALYSIS ON “Sthitam-Sthitam Hanti†WITH SPECIAL REFERENCE TO RECURRENT PREGNANCY LOSS
Priyanka Jaiswal*
. Abstract Motherhood is a deeply rooted emotional aspiration for many women. The desire to be called ―the mother of a child‖ is not just a social identity but also a part of emotional fulfillment. When a woman suffers from recurrent pregnancy loss, she does not only go through physical pain but also endures emotional trauma. The repeated pregnancy loss can lead to deep grief (shoka) Mental instability (mansik santap) and Long-term depression (avsaad) These consequences highlight the need for a holistic approach, not just only a physical treatment. The quotation- स्थथतं स्थथतं हहहहह (पुत्रघ्नी रक्त संस्रवात।) Represents repeated expulsion or delivery of dead fetus along with bleeding per vagina In ayurveda Vata dosha, particularly Apāna vayu is mainly responsible for carrying the fetus. Vitiated vata along with rakta and pitta dusthi causes expulsion of fetus with bleeding per vagina. This article is based on all vyadhi/disorders described in ayurvedic classics where there are possibilities of recurrent pregnancy loss like Yonivyapad and jataharini, e.g. putraghni, sasrija/apraja Yonivyapad, kulkshyakari Durdhara Kalaratri jataharini. Keywords: Sthitam-sthitam hanti, recurrent pregnancy loss. [Full Text Article] [Download Certificate] |
