Abstract

According to modern science hair fall is one of the main symptoms which indicate many pathological conditions. It may occur due to hormonal disturbance. In Ayurveda there is no clear description about the causative factors of Indralupta, Khalitya except Acharya Charaka and Vagbhatta who has mentioned the major factors. Viddha karma therapy is an ancient ayurvedic para surgical procedure mentioned in Sushruta Samhita. It is a pain-less ayurvedic treatment for the khalitya and indralupta. In the Samprapti of khalitya Roga, vitiated Rakta and Kapha obstruct the hair follicle and leads to hair loss. Pracchana karma, Suchivedhan karma is indicated in Raktaj Vyadhi and helps to drain the Vitiated Rakta ultimately break the pathogenesis.
