THE ROLE OF FOREST CONSERVATION IN CARBON SEQUESTRATION
*Dr. Rafatunisa Nahri
Abstract Forests play a critical role in carbon sequestration, a process that helps mitigate climate change by capturing and storing atmospheric carbon dioxide. This paper examines the significance of forest conservation in enhancing carbon sequestration capacities. By reviewing current literature and analyzing various conservation strategies, the paper highlights the benefits and challenges of forest conservation efforts. Additionally, it discusses the role of sustainable forest management practices in maintaining ecosystem health. The economic implications of forest conservation, including ecosystem services and carbon trading mechanisms, are also explored. Lastly, the paper addresses policy measures and community involvement crucial for successful forest conservation. Keywords: Forest Conservation, Carbon Sequestration, Climate Change, Ecosystem Services, Sustainable Management. [Full Text Article] [Download Certificate] |
