. Abstract The pancreas is usually the same throughout and has the same echo pattern as the liver or is slightly more echoic. The spleen is a wedge-shaped organ that is less than 12 centimetres wide from head to toe and less than 5 centimetres thick at the midaxillary line. It is frequently situated parallel to the left tenth rib. Graded compression is used in imaging the gastrointestinal tract to get rid of obstructive bowel loops that are full of gas and faeces, bring the area of interest closer, and check how stiff the tissues underneath are. The stomach is examined longitudinally and transversely using subxiphoid methods. A lateral trans-splenic view shows the fundus well.
