A FULL EXAMINATION OF CURRENT AND FUTURE CERVICAL CANCER TREATMENT
Miss Khushi Naykodi*, Miss. Bhagyashree Nigude, Nayna Khedekar, Dr. Tushar T. Shelke
Abstract Cervical cancer is one of the most common gynecological cancers in women. It is also one of the most common cancers in women that can be detected and fully treated when it is still in the precancerous stage. Sexually transmitted diseases (STDs), which are also brought on by the mortal papillomavirus (HPV), particularly HPV-16 and HPV-18, are the main cause of cervical cancer. Cervical cancer is currently treated with surgery, radiation therapy, and chemotherapy; depending on the stage and severity of the disease, these treatments are frequently combined. These conventional treatments, however, are frequently linked to severe side effects and may not work in cases that are advanced or recurrent. Consequently, there is an increasing need for innovative approaches to treatment. Targeted therapy, immunotherapy, and gene-based therapy are some of the innovative approaches used in the treatment of cervical cancer. Vascular Endothelial Growth Factor (VEGF) inhibitors and other targeted medications have demonstrated encouraging results in clinical trials. By integrating these innovative medications into standard medical care, patient outcomes for cervical cancer may be greatly enhanced in the years to come. More research is needed to address concerns about medication resistance, identify predictive biomarkers for patient selection, and improve treatment plans. Collaborations between academics, the pharmaceutical industry, and medical professionals will be crucial to bringing these novel treatments from laboratory research to clinical practice and ultimately reducing the worldwide impact of cervical cancer.
