PRIMARY HEALTH CARE SYSTEM AND ITS RELEVANCE TO HOMOEOPATHIC SYSTEM OF MEDICINE IN INDIA

Abstract Health has been declared as a fundamental human right. Primary Health Care (PHC) represents the foundation of India‘s health delivery system and aligns closely with the holistic principles of Homoeopathy. Following the Alma-Ata Declaration (1978), India adopted PHC to ensure universal, affordable, and community-oriented health services. Homoeopathy, recognized under the AYUSH framework, has played a crucial role in promoting preventive, promotive, and curative care at the grassroots level. This paper explores the organization of PHC in India, the philosophical and functional integration of Homoeopathy into this framework, and its role in achieving holistic community health.
