A REVIEW ON UROLITHIASIS AND PHYTOTHERAPY

Abstract Herbal medicine is a natural remedy for all the disease. Urinary stones are one of the oldest and most common afflictions in humans. Urolithiasis is a major cause of morbidity worldwide, where the stones are formed or located in the urinary system or the process of forming stones in the kidney, bladder and ureters. The patient will come across various signs and symptoms and diagnosis to find out the problem and get prescribed to some of allopathic medicines which are harmful to humans. Furthermore, in spite of substantial progress in the study of the biological and physical manifestations of kidney stones, there is no satisfactory drug to use in clinical therapy in the management of urolithiasis. The present review therefore critically evaluates the potential usefulness of herbal medicines in the management of urolithiasis. Keywords: Urolithiasis, kidney, calculi, phytotherapy.
